Policy Review

 

The Commission’s Chief Executive is Accountable Officer for the Commission.  He has a statutory duty to secure Best Value in the Commission.  The duty of Best Value is to secure continuous improvement in the performance of the Commission taking into account a number of different criteria and to have regard to economy, effectiveness, the equal opportunities requirements and to contribute to the achievement of sustainable development.  In working to ensure Best Value within the Commission, the Chief Executive and the Audit Committee have agreed a Best Value action plan. 

 

Part of the action plan includes a commitment to set a rolling timescale for review of all Commission procedures and policies to ensure that these are up to date and maintain effective and efficient methods to deal with the Commission’s business.

 

The timetable for the policy review can be accessed here.  We welcome comments from interested parties on these policies.  If you wish to make comment please submit your comments by the deadline stated in the timetable, either in writing or by emailing info@sccrc.org.uk.

 

In line with the policy review timetable, the Commission is currently undertaking reviews of the following policies and procedures:
